Apple Dumplings
Ingredients:
2 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and cored
1 can (8-count) crescent roll dough
1 cup sugar
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup Mountain Dew (or Sprite)
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
2. Prepare the apples – cut each apple into 8 slices.
3. Wrap the apples – unroll crescent dough and wrap each apple slice in a triangle of dough, pinching edges to seal. Place in the baking dish.
4. Make the sauce – in a bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. Pour over the dumplings.
5. Add soda – carefully pour Mountain Dew around the dumplings (not on top).
6. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
7. Serve warm
