Brown Sugar Garlic Chicken (Oven-Baked or Skillet)
Ingredients:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
4 tablespoons brown sugar
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Oven Method:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, garlic, olive oil, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
3. Place chicken in a greased baking dish. Spread the brown sugar mixture evenly over the chicken.
4. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes or until internal temp reaches 165°F and the sauce is bubbly and caramelized.
5. Optional: Broil the last 2–3 minutes for extra golden color.
6. Spoon sauce over chicken before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley.
Skillet Method:
1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
2. Season chicken with salt, pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning.
3. Sear chicken on both sides until nearly cooked through, about 4–5 minutes per side.
4. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds, then sprinkle brown sugar over chicken and cook until it melts into a glaze, basting the chicken.
5. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until sauce thickens and chicken is fully cooked.
