Loaded Smash Cheeseburger
↪️Ingredients:
Ground beef (80/20) - 2.5 lbs
American cheese slices - 10
Burger buns - 5 (brioche preferred)
Butter - 2 tbsp (for buns)
Ketchup, mustard, mayo - as desired
Salt and pepper - to taste
Optional: diced grilled onions, pickles
Instructions:
1️⃣ Divide the ground beef into 2 oz balls (2-3 per burger, depending on stack height).
2️⃣ Heat a cast-iron skillet or griddle to high heat. Place beef balls on the hot surface and press down with a sturdy spatula to form thin patties. Season with salt and pepper.
3️⃣ Cook patties for about 2 minutes on one side until edges are crispy. Flip, place a slice of American cheese on top, and cook for 1-2 more minutes.
4️⃣ Toast the buns with butter in a separate pan until golden brown.
5️⃣ Assemble the burgers: layer each cheesy patty, adding sauces (ketchup, mustard, mayo) between layers if desired. Stack high for that signature loaded look!
6️⃣ Top with the bun and serve while hot.
Notes:
You can add grilled onions or crispy bacon for an extra flavor punch.
Ensure patties are thin and crispy for that authentic smash burger vibe.
