Chili Copycat



Wendy's Chili Copycat Recipe ❤️


Ingredients


2 pounds fresh ground beef


1 quart tomato juice


1 (29-ounce) can tomato purée


1 (15-ounce) can red kidney beans, drained


1 (15-ounce) can pinto beans, drained


1 medium-large onion, chopped (about 1 ½ cups)


1/2 cup chopped celery


1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper


1 (10-ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chilies


1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes


1 teaspoon ground cumin


1 tablespoon chili powder


1/2 teaspoon black pepper


1 teaspoon salt


1/2 teaspoon oregano


1/2 teaspoon sugar


1 cup water



Instructions


1. In a large pot over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.



2. Add the chopped onion, celery, and green bell pepper. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.



3. Pour in the tomato juice, tomato purée, diced tomatoes, and tomatoes with green chilies. Stir well.



4. Add the kidney beans and pinto beans.



5. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, black pepper, salt, oregano, sugar, and water. Mix well.



6. Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer uncovered for 1 to 1 ½ hours, stirring occasionally.



7. Serve hot and enjoy with crackers, cornbread, or shredded cheese on top!
