Wendy’s Chili
Ingredients:
2 pounds ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, diced
1 celery stalk, diced
1 (28-ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 (16-ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (14-ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 (14-ounce) can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
1 (10-ounce) can Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies
1 cup water
1 packet chili seasoning mix (or homemade: 1 tbsp chili powder, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, ½ tsp salt, ½ tsp pepper, ½ tsp oregano, ¼ tsp cayenne)
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon sugar
Instructions:
1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
2. Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and celery. Cook for 5 minutes until softened.
3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, kidney beans, pinto beans, and Rotel tomatoes.
4. Add the water, chili seasoning mix, white vinegar, and sugar. Stir to combine.
5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Simmer uncovered for 1–1.5 hours, stirring occasionally.
6. Serve hot and enjoy with crackers, cornbread, or shredded cheese on top!
