Ground Beef and Cabbage Skillet
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
2–3 garlic cloves, minced
1 small head of green cabbage, chopped (about 6 cups)
1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz), undrained
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional for extra flavor)
1 tbsp olive oil or butter
Instructions:
1. Brown the beef:
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
2. Sauté onion & garlic:
Add chopped onion and garlic to the beef. Cook 2–3 minutes until softened.
3. Add cabbage:
Stir in chopped cabbage. Drizzle with olive oil or a small pat of butter. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage starts to soften.
4. Season & simmer:
Add diced tomatoes (with juice), paprika, black pepper, salt, red pepper flakes, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well. Cover and cook 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender.
5. Serve:
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot with rice, mashed potatoes, or crusty bread.
