🌶️ Texas Roadhouse-Style Chili
Ingredients:
2 lbs ground beef (or chuck)
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes, with juice
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 cup water (or beef broth for more flavor)
2 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp brown sugar (optional for balance)
Optional Toppings:
Shredded cheddar cheese
Diced red onions
Jalapeño slices
Sour cream
Crushed crackers or cornbread

Instructions:
1. Brown the meat:
In a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
2. Add aromatics:
Stir in onions and garlic. Cook 3–4 minutes until softened.
3. Build the flavor:
Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beans, and water (or broth). Stir well.
4. Season the pot:
Mix in chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne, salt, pepper, and brown sugar.
5. Simmer low and slow:
Cover partially and simmer on low heat for 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Add a splash more water if it gets too thick.
6. Taste and adjust:
Add salt or more spice if needed. Simmer another 10 minutes for richer flavor.
7. Serve hot:
Ladle into bowls and top with your favorites!
