π Classic Deep Dish Apple Crisp
Warm, buttery, and full of apple-cinnamon goodness!
π Apple Filling:
6 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work best), peeled, cored & sliced
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 tbsp lemon juice (to brighten and prevent browning)

π― Crisp Topping:
1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

π₯ Instructions:
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a deep 8x8" or 9x9" baking dish (or similar size casserole).
2️⃣ Make the Apple Filling:
In a large bowl, toss sliced apples with sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, flour, and lemon juice. Pour into prepared baking dish.
3️⃣ Make the Crisp Topping:
In another bowl, stir together oats, flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Pour in the melted butter and mix until crumbly and well combined.
4️⃣ Assemble:
Evenly sprinkle the oat topping over the apples.
5️⃣ Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbling and tender.
6️⃣ Cool Slightly & Serve Warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!
π Tips:
For extra crunch, add 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts to the topping.
Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for deeper flavor.
