Ingredients
For the pie:2 sheets puff pastry (thawed) or homemade pie crust

½ cup granulated sugar
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp lemon juice

1 egg (for egg wash, beaten with 1 tbsp water)
For the glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2–3 tbsp milk (or cream for richer flavor)
½ tsp vanilla extract
---
Instructions
1. Prep the oven & pan – Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a 10x15-inch jelly roll pan or baking sheet with parchment paper.2. Prepare the filling – In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and lemon juice. Toss until apples are well coated.
3. Assemble the bottom crust – Place one sheet of puff pastry (or roll out homemade crust) onto the prepared pan, pressing it to fit.
4. Add filling – Spread the apple mixture evenly over the crust. Dot with butter cubes.
5. Top crust – Place the second sheet of puff pastry (or rolled-out crust) over the apples. Pinch edges to seal. Cut a few slits in the top to allow steam to escape. Brush with egg wash.
6. Bake – Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and filling is bubbling. Remove from oven and let cool for at least 20 minutes.
7. Make the glaze – Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Adjust thickness with more sugar or milk as needed.
8. Glaze the pie – Drizzle glaze over the cooled pie. Let it set for 10 minutes before slicing into squares or rectangles.
