Spaghetti Casserole



Million Dollar Spaghetti Casserole


Ingredients:


1 lb ground beef


1 jar (24 oz) spaghetti sauce


8 oz cream cheese, softened


¼ cup sour cream


1 cup cottage cheese


½ cup butter (1 stick)


16 oz spaghetti


2 cups shredded cheddar cheese


1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)


1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)


Salt and pepper to taste



Instructions:


1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).



2. Cook spaghetti noodles in salted boiling water until al dente (firm but tender). Drain and set aside.



3. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess grease. Stir in the spaghetti sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes.



4. Prepare the creamy layer: In a bowl, mix together cream cheese, sour cream, and cottage cheese until smooth. Add garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper if using.



5. Assemble the casserole:


Place half of the cooked spaghetti in a greased 9x13 baking dish.


Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the spaghetti.


Add the remaining spaghetti on top.


Slice the butter into small pieces and scatter them over the top layer of spaghetti.


Pour the meat sauce evenly over everything.


Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.




6. Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown.



7. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
