Pineapple Glazed Ham


Ingredients:


1 fully cooked bone-in ham (8-10 pounds)


Whole cloves (optional, for studding)


1 can (20 oz) pineapple slices in juice (reserve juice)


1/2 cup brown sugar


1/2 cup honey or maple syrup


1/4 cup Dijon or yellow mustard


1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)


Maraschino cherries (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:


1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).



2. Score the ham in a diamond pattern (about 1/4 inch deep). If using, press whole cloves into the intersections.



3. Place the ham in a roasting pan lined with foil or parchment for easy cleanup.



4. Prepare the glaze:


In a saucepan over medium heat, combine:


1/2 cup pineapple juice (from the can)


1/2 cup brown sugar


1/2 cup honey or maple syrup


1/4 cup mustard


1/2 tsp cinnamon (if using)



Stir until bubbly and thickened slightly (about 5-8 minutes).




5. Brush ham generously with some of the glaze.



6. Bake uncovered, basting with glaze every 20-30 minutes, for about 1.5 to 2 hours (or 10-12 minutes per pound), until heated through and caramelized.



7. Add pineapple slices (and cherries if using) during the last 30 minutes, securing with toothpicks.



8. Rest ham for 15 minutes before slicing. Serve with extra glaze on the side.
