Pineapple Glazed Ham
Ingredients:
1 fully cooked bone-in ham (7–9 lbs)
Whole cloves (optional)
1 can (20 oz) sliced pineapple in juice (reserve juice)
Maraschino cherries (optional, for garnish)
For the glaze:
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup pineapple juice (from the canned pineapple)
2 tbsp Dijon mustard (or yellow mustard)
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground cloves (or use whole cloves to stud the ham)
---
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Line a roasting pan with foil for easy cleanup.
2. Score the ham in a crisscross pattern (about 1/4 inch deep). If using, insert whole cloves into the intersections.
3. In a saucepan, mix brown sugar, honey, pineapple juice, mustard, cinnamon, and ground cloves. Heat over medium heat until it starts to simmer. Stir well and simmer for 5–7 minutes until thickened slightly.
4. Place ham in the roasting pan. Brush generously with half of the glaze. Arrange pineapple rings on the surface with toothpicks or cloves. Add cherries in the centers if desired.
5. Cover ham loosely with foil and bake for 1.5 to 2 hours (or about 15 minutes per pound), basting every 30 minutes with the remaining glaze.
6. Uncover ham for the last 20–30 minutes to allow the glaze to caramelize and get sticky.
7. Let rest 15–20 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with extra glaze drizzled on top if desired.
