🍏 Baked Apple Fritters Recipe


Ingredients:


For the Fritters:


2 cups all-purpose flour


1/4 cup granulated sugar


2 teaspoons baking powder


1/2 teaspoon salt


1 teaspoon cinnamon


2 large eggs


2/3 cup milk


1 teaspoon vanilla extract


2 tablespoons melted butter or oil


1 1/2 cups peeled, chopped apples (like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)



For the Glaze:


1 cup powdered sugar


2 tablespoons milk


1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

🧁 Instructions:


1. Preheat the Oven:


Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).


Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.



2. Make the Batter:


In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.


In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, and melted butter.


Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix until just combined.


Gently fold in the chopped apples.



3. Shape the Fritters:


Drop large spoonfuls of batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them out slightly. Flatten them a bit for even baking.



4. Bake:


Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.


Let cool slightly on the pan.



5. Glaze:


In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.


Drizzle over warm fritters or dip the tops directly into the glaze.


Let glaze set for a few minutes before serving.

For extra flavor, toss the apples in a bit of cinnamon sugar before folding into the batter.

You can also add chopped nuts (like pecans or walnuts) for a bit of crunch!
