🍲 Slow Cooker No-Bean Chili
Ingredients:
2 lbs (900g) ground beef (or half beef, half pork)
1 onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
1 (14 oz) can diced tomatoes (with juices)
2 tbsp tomato paste
1/2 cup beef broth (or water)
2 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp oregano
1 tbsp brown sugar (balances acidity)
Optional: 1 chopped bell pepper or jalapeño
🕗 Instructions:
1. Brown the meat (optional but recommended):
In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with diced onion and garlic until browned. Drain excess grease.
2. Add to slow cooker:
Transfer the meat mixture to your slow cooker. Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, and all seasonings. Stir to combine.
3. Cook:
On LOW for 6–8 hours
Or on HIGH for 3–4 hours
4. Taste & adjust:
Stir, taste, and adjust salt or spice level before serving.
5. Serve with:
Shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions, or over cornbread or rice.
