🌶️ Chili Cheese Dog Casserole
🕰️ Serves 6–8 | Prep Time: 10 min | Cook Time: 30 min
Ingredients:
1 (15 oz) can chili (with or without beans)
8 beef hot dogs
8 slices American or cheddar cheese
1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (for topping)
Optional garnish: chopped green onions, jalapeños, sour cream
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Prepare the base:
Spread the canned chili evenly across the bottom of a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
3. Wrap the dogs:
Unroll crescent dough and separate into triangles.
Place a slice of cheese on each triangle, then place a hot dog on top. Roll up the hot dog in the dough, wrapping it like a crescent roll.
4. Assemble the casserole:
Place the wrapped hot dogs on top of the chili in the baking dish, seam-side down.
5. Bake for 25 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
6. Add cheese topping:
Sprinkle shredded cheddar on top and return to the oven for 5 more minutes until melted.
7. Garnish & serve:
Top with green onions, jalapeños, or a dollop of sour cream if desired. Serve hot!
💡 Tips:
Use spicy chili or add hot sauce for extra heat.
Try with turkey dogs or veggie dogs for a lighter option.
