Cabbage and Ground Beef
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1 small head of cabbage, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes (optional)
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp smoked paprika (optional)
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
½ cup beef broth (or water, if needed)
1 tbsp butter or oil
Instructions:
1. Brown the Beef: In a large skillet or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease if needed.
2. Sauté Aromatics: Add chopped onion and garlic to the beef and cook until soft, about 2 minutes.
3. Cook the Cabbage: Stir in the chopped cabbage, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
4. Add Liquid: Pour in beef broth (or water) and diced tomatoes if using. Stir well, cover, and let it simmer on low for about 15-20 minutes, or until cabbage is tender.
5. Finish & Serve: Stir in butter for extra richness, adjust seasoning if needed, and serve hot.
