Garlic Cheddar Biscuits
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ¾ cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)
For the Garlic Butter Topping:
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon dried parsley
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Pour in the milk and mix just until combined (do not overmix).
- Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While the biscuits bake, mix the melted butter, garlic powder, and parsley for the topping.
- Brush the warm biscuits with the garlic butter mixture.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
