Creamy Garlic Parmesan chicken
Ingredients:
2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (halved lengthwise to make 4 cutlets)
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 tsp Italian seasoning
½ tsp smoked paprika
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter
4 cloves garlic (minced)
1 cup heavy cream
½ cup chicken broth
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional, for depth of flavor)
¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
½ cup spinach (optional, for a pop of color)
Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Chicken:
Season the chicken cutlets with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and smoked paprika.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
2. Make the Creamy Sauce:
Reduce heat to medium and add butter to the skillet. Sauté the minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the pan. Let it simmer for 2 minutes.
Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and Dijon mustard (if using). Simmer until slightly thickened (about 3-5 minutes).
If using spinach, stir it in until wilted.
3. Combine & Serve:
Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, spooning the creamy garlic parmesan sauce over the top. Let it simmer for another 2 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve over pasta, rice, or mashed
