Twix Cookies Recipe
Ingredients:
For the Shortbread Cookies:
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
½ cup powdered sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon salt
For the Caramel Layer:
1 cup soft caramels (like Kraft)
2 tablespoons heavy cream
For the Chocolate Topping:
1 cup milk chocolate chips (or semi-sweet)
1 teaspoon vegetable oil (for a smooth texture)
Instructions:
1. Make the Shortbread Cookies:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cream butter and powdered sugar together until light and fluffy. Add vanilla.
Mix in flour and salt until a dough forms. Roll out to ¼-inch thick and cut into circles.
Place cookies on the baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, until lightly golden. Cool completely.
2. Prepare the Caramel Layer:
Melt caramels and heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
Spoon a small amount onto each cooled cookie, spreading evenly. Let it set for about 10 minutes.
3. Add the Chocolate Topping:
Melt chocolate chips and vegetable oil in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
Spoon or drizzle chocolate over the caramel layer, spreading to cover. Let the chocolate set.
