Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
1 small onion, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, drained & rinsed
1 (15 oz) can black beans, drained & rinsed
1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 cup beef broth (or water)
2 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
Salt & pepper to taste
Optional: a pinch of sugar (to balance acidity)

Instructions:
1. Brown the meat: In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
2. Add to slow cooker: Combine beef, onion, bell pepper, garlic, beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, paste, broth, and spices in the slow cooker.
3. Cook:
On Low: 6–8 hours
On High: 3–4 hours
4. Stir and taste: Before serving, stir well and adjust salt/pepper to taste.
