Homemade Green Onion Crackers
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
½ tsp salt
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
¼ cup finely chopped green onions (scallions)
2 tbsp olive oil (or melted butter)
⅓ cup water (add more 1 tbsp at a time if needed)
Sea salt for sprinkling (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, salt, baking powder, and garlic powder (if using).
3. Stir in the chopped green onions.
4. Add olive oil and water. Mix until a firm dough forms. Knead gently for 1–2 minutes.
5. Roll the dough out thin (about 1/8 inch) on a floured surface.
6. Cut into squares or rectangles using a knife or pizza cutter.
7. Place on the baking sheet. Prick each cracker with a fork to prevent puffing.
8. Sprinkle with sea salt if desired.
9. Bake for 15–18 minutes or until golden and crisp. Keep an eye on them in the last few minutes.
10. Let cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
