Pork Chop Supreme — OMG!
Ingredients:
4 boneless pork chops
4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
1 envelope Lipton onion soup mix
1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
¼ cup milk
Salt and pepper, to taste
Butter or oil, for browning
---
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
2. Brown the pork chops:
Season pork chops lightly with salt and pepper. In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the pork chops in a little butter or oil for about 2–3 minutes per side. (This step adds flavor but is optional.)
3. Layer potatoes:
Arrange the thinly sliced potatoes in an even layer in the bottom of the baking dish. Lightly season with salt and pepper.
4. Mix the sauce:
In a bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, and onion soup mix until well combined.
5. Assemble casserole:
Pour half the soup mixture over the potatoes.
Place the browned pork chops on top.
Pour the remaining soup mixture evenly over the pork chops.
6. Cover and bake:
Cover tightly with foil and bake for 1 hour.
7. Optional crisping:
Remove foil and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes to slightly brown the top, if desired.
8. Serve:
Let sit for 5 minutes before serving. The potatoes should be tender and the pork chops juicy and flavorful.
