🧀 Bacon and Cream Cheese Stuffed Doritos
Ingredients:
1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
6 slices cooked bacon, finely chopped
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 jalapeño (optional), finely chopped
2 cups crushed Doritos (any flavor – Nacho Cheese or Spicy Nacho work best)
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs, beaten
Oil for frying
---
Instructions:
1. Make the Filling:
In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, chopped bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, and optional jalapeño. Stir until smooth and well combined.
2. Shape the Filling:
Scoop about 1 tablespoon of the mixture and roll into small balls. Place on a plate and freeze for 30 minutes to firm up.
3. Prepare Breading Stations:
Place flour in one bowl.
Beat the eggs in a second bowl.
Pour crushed Doritos into a third bowl.
4. Coat the Balls:
Roll each frozen cream cheese ball in flour.
Dip into the egg, then roll in crushed Doritos.
For extra crunch, double dip: egg again, then Doritos again.
5. Fry:
Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry the coated balls in batches for 2–3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Don’t overcrowd the pan.
6. Drain & Serve:
Remove with a slotted spoon, place on paper towels to drain. Let cool slightly before serving.
Tips:
Try different Doritos flavors like Cool Ranch or Spicy Sweet Chili for fun variations.
You can bake these at 400°F for 12–15 minutes or air fry at 380°F for 8–10 minutes if you prefer a lighter version.
