🍕 Homemade Pizza Rolls
🧀 Ingredients:
1 can refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade dough)
1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara
1 to 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup mini pepperoni or diced regular pepperoni
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Olive oil or melted butter (for brushing)
🥣 Optional Fillings:
Cooked sausage
Cooked bacon
Diced bell peppers
Mushrooms
Jalapeños
👩🍳 Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray with nonstick spray.
2. Roll out the dough into a large rectangle (about 10x14 inches).
3. Spread sauce evenly over the dough, leaving about 1/2 inch border on all sides.
4. Sprinkle cheese, pepperoni, and any optional toppings evenly over the sauce.
5. Roll it up tightly like a jelly roll, starting from the long side. Pinch the seam and ends to seal.
6. Cut into 1-inch slices using a sharp knife or dental floss (makes cleaner cuts). You should get about 12 rolls.
7. Place rolls cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet. Brush tops lightly with olive oil or melted butter.
8. Sprinkle garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese over the top (optional but delicious).
9. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
10. Cool slightly, then serve with extra warm pizza sauce for dipping!
🍴 Tips:
Air fryer method: Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 6–8 minutes in batches.
Want them cheesier? Add a cube of mozzarella inside each roll before rolling.
For a crispy bottom, bake on a preheated pizza stone or cast iron skillet.
