Chicken Cordon Bleu

📝 Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
4 slices deli ham
4 slices Swiss cheese (or Gruyère/Mozzarella)
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs (beaten)
1 ½ cups breadcrumbs (Panko for extra crunch)
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon paprika
Salt & black pepper (to taste)
2 tablespoons butter (melted) or olive oil spray

Optional Sauce (easy Dijon cream):
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
¼ cup grated Parmesan
Salt & pepper, to taste

🍴 Instructions
1. Prep the chicken
Place chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound to about ¼-inch thickness.
Season both sides lightly with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.


2. Assemble rolls
Lay 1 slice of ham and 1 slice of cheese on each chicken breast.
Roll tightly, tucking in the sides, and secure with toothpicks.


3. Coat chicken
Dredge each roll in flour, dip in beaten eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs.
For extra crispiness, drizzle or brush with melted butter (or spray lightly with olive oil).


4. Bake
Place on a greased baking sheet.
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25–30 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp 165°F).


5. Make the sauce (optional but delicious!)
In a saucepan, melt butter, whisk in flour, and cook for 1 minute.
Slowly whisk in milk until smooth.
Stir in Dijon mustard and Parmesan. Cook until thickened, about 2–3 minutes.


6. Serve
Remove toothpicks from chicken, slice, and drizzle with Dijon cream sauce.
